What is zero-knowledge KYC?

Zero-knowledge KYC uses cryptographic proofs to demonstrate that a defined identity or eligibility requirement has been satisfied without necessarily exposing all of the underlying identity information to the verifier. For example, a user could prove that a required KYC process was completed without sending another platform the original identity documents.

Does MirrorZKP replace my KYC provider?

Not necessarily. MirrorZKP can sit alongside existing identity, AML, sanctions, wallet-risk, and compliance providers. The existing provider can establish the underlying fact, while MirrorZKP helps turn that result into a privacy-preserving proof another system can verify.

Can MirrorZKP prove that someone passed KYC?

MirrorZKP can be used to prove that a defined KYC-related requirement or credential is valid when the relevant proof has been constructed from an appropriate trusted source or verification process. The exact architecture depends on the underlying KYC provider and the claim being verified.

Can MirrorZKP support AML and sanctions workflows?

MirrorZKP can support privacy-preserving proofs about defined AML, sanctions, wallet-risk, or provenance conditions. It does not independently determine what screening policy your organization is legally required to use. Your compliance framework defines the condition; MirrorZKP provides infrastructure for proving the defined result.

Does MirrorZKP store customer identity documents?

MirrorZKP is designed around minimizing unnecessary exposure of sensitive source information. The exact data flow depends on the implementation and proof architecture, but a core benefit of zero-knowledge verification is that downstream verifiers can confirm a claim without necessarily receiving the private data behind it.

How is this different from simply sharing a KYC provider’s API response?

An API response asks the receiving application to trust the provider and frequently still requires the recipient to integrate directly with that provider or receive associated customer data. A cryptographic proof can allow a receiving system to independently verify that a precisely defined condition was satisfied.
